RWF with its Waterfront Task Force (WFT) affiliate has united downtown leaders in meetings, walking tours and advocacy documents to improve the Riverwalk and adjacent Water Street.  Outcomes have included:

Grants from International Paper and CSX Transportation for downtown enhancements.

CFCC clean up on Water St. with painting and plantings.

Water St. parking lots: cleaned up and landscaped from Market to Nun Sts.

Tree Plantings: through our affiliate ACFT, trees were planted adjacent to the Riverwalk and at other prominent areas of need in the City.

Alleys:  We have advocated for Alley improvement and are pleased to see the City putting Henderson, Quince and Wilkinson Alley in a proposed new funding plan.  With citizen input, existing ballast stone could be used, and we trust the Arts Community will be involved in a creative improvement process.

Eagles Island:  ongoing meetings with county planners to propose alternatives to single family homes, and meeting with government and non-profit and environmental organizations about alternative preservation, education and recreation preferences.

Muters Alley: cleaned up with a new structure and painting of the Wilmington City Market.

Visitors Center Booth: new paint and repairs and plans for a glass entry extension.

Tree Wells: encouraged the City to move ahead, and they have hired a consultant.
